Knight Property Group strengthens presence in Aberdeen with land acquisition.

Knight Property Group has acquired a six acre site in Westhill, Aberdeen in a deal expected to have an investment value in excess of £35million for the firm upon completion of the development.

The site was purchased on a speculative basis from Westhill Development Company and is one of the last remaining sites available at Arnhall, Westhill.

One of Scotland's leading developers and winner of the Developer of the Year award at the 2009 Scottish Property Awards, Knight Property Group has already enjoyed significant success to date in the Westhill area.

Knight has invested £45million in the development of the WestPoint Business Park which thus far comprises five high specification office pavilions occupied by companies including TAQA Bratani, BlueSky Business Space and Seabrokers Limited.

James Barrack managing director of Knight Property Group said: "Westhill has quickly become one of the region's most desirable commercial locations and with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route now approved our site occupies an ideal position.

"The land has the potential to accommodate a variety of development opportunities, including multiple office or industrial buildings or even a single property composed of office, workshop and yard space which can be custom-designed to the unique needs of the tenant. This has been a strategic purchase for Knight and I am very much looking forward to building on the success we have already enjoyed in the Westhill area."

Knight Real Estate kicks off new industrial project

Commercial property developer Knight Real Estate is set to begin the speculative construction of a substantial office and warehouse complex in Dyce

The building, on Howe Moss Avenue, will provide 10,000sq ft of offices together with 17,000sq ft of warehouse/workshop space and ancillary yard. Extensive car parking will also be included.

Infrastructure works on the two-acre site have already been completed.

Knight Real Estate Managing Director James Barrack said: "There is an acute shortage of industrial buildings within the Aberdeen market, particularly in Dyce, and this planned development is prefectly suited to alleviate that issue."

Joint marketing agents for the development are F.G. Burnett Ltd and Knight Frank.

Graeme Watt of F.G. Burnett said: "I am not aware of the availability of any industrial building which can boast the layout, size and flexibility of this new building. I am confident that it will be much sought after."

Katherine Monro of Knight Frank said: "There is bound to be strong demand for this building and I would anticipate that it will be leased long before it is completed.
